How long have you been practicing Yoga?
I have been practicing yoga for 7 years.

What Style do you practice and teach?
I practice and teach Forrest Yoga.

What is your favorite part of being a member of our studio, classes, & community?
My favorite part of our studio is the setting…by the river, waterfall & pond view, nature all around. My favorite part about classes and community is that Two Rivers Yoga is a place where you can be yourself, you can process & be supported in letting go of that which is no longer working for you and you can take in & receive the abounding love that the community energy provides.

What is a pose(s) that has helped you heal, feel centered, connected or beautiful?
Phoenix Rising with a teacher assist has been extraordinarily healing for me. Opening the front of my heart, spreading my chest bones and feeling my heart center at new depths has been very centering and a beautiful opening for me. Back bends in general help me connect to my power in my lower body and feel that support for my chest and heart.

What difference overall has practicing Yoga made in your life?
Forrest Yoga was a significant tool in healing me out of a deep depression. The practice met me in the pit of despair and the healing presence and hands-on assists guided me through a lot of emotional, physical, and spiritual processing. After I finished 3 years of mental health counseling, I knew Forrest Yoga was now a part of me and a tool I would use to continue growing throughout the rest of my life.

What else quickens your blood and/or brightens your Spirit?
I am very passionate about the power to heal and I am thrilled to be at a place in my journey of life where I am able to give and receive. It brightens my Spirit to share the tools I have learned and get to witness another persons spirit light up.

What is your Totem Animal, and/or favorite place in Nature?
Dragonfly, creature of water and air that can quickly change direction, stay in the flow and reflect beautiful light. I absolutely love to be near water!!!

How do you connect to it personally?
My favorite way to connect to water is to be at the ocean. When I can’t do that I like to find a big rock in the middle of the river, sit on the rock and listen & observe all the sounds & sights around me. The rushing sounds of the river is very calming for my spirit. And the dragonflies often come to play with me.

What would you like people to know about your classes and the way you teach?
I teach and give from the heart. Teaching is a way for me to love others in a beautiful healing way. I will meet you where you are and hold space for you to feel inside and connect with your own body and spirit.

What do you want people to know about you personally?
I love people and I love assisting people grow and break free. My husband and I work together in the photography business as well and I love the process of bringing the inner beauty that each one of us possess to the surface, so that my husband can capture that bright light in a beautiful image. That is the same goal I have in yoga class and with essential oils: to uncover the beautiful light in each person.
