My experience with yoga began in 1999 as a way to improve my Kenpo Karate practice and I quickly realized the powerful benefits of continuing a yoga practice in my life. Working with traditional Ceremonies has been an integral part of my life and my yoga practice. I have had the honor and privilege of studying with two Native American Chiefs for the past 9 years and this experience, more than anything, has helped shape my life and my teachings. I strongly believe in looking back to access and honor the memories and teachings of my ancestors, and to keep those teachings in my daily life as I move into the future.
My classes are designed for all-levels, and have a strong focus on building strength, rehabbing injuries, and most importantly feeling confident and inspired by the many things our bodies CAN do! Whether we are working with heart openers, inversions, or a more relaxing flow, your safety is the top priority for me. It’s also important to remember to take a few moments to calm and quiet our minds, so every class I teach begins with a ceremonial feel where we light some cedar, close our eyes, and make that conscious shift into our yoga time together.
Two Rivers Yoga has been my second home for so many years and I’m thrilled to share my style of yoga with you!
